Professor Freeman is one of the nation’s top climate change experts. She has written extensively about the U.S. approach to climate change through both legislation and regulation and is an expert on how different presidential administrations have addressed climate and energy policy. Freeman worked in the Obama White House as Counselor for Energy and Climate Change where, among other things, she led the process that resulted in a historic doubling of fuel efficiency standards, a signature achievement of President Obama’s first term. She co-edits the landmark volume Global Climate Change and U.S. Law and is a much-sought expert commentator on climate change and the clean energy transition. Freeman serves as a climate change expert on the Climate Advisory Board of NBIM, which manages Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.
